Agreement
These Terms govern your use of Outbox, operated by Boyd Labs LLC, a New York limited liability company (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are using Outbox for an employer, you confirm you may bind that organisation. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What Outbox does
Outbox connects to your Gmail mailbox with your permission and builds a private CRM from your own correspondence: who you have spoken to, what you promised, who has gone quiet, and what to send next. It prepares drafts in your writing style and tracks news about the firms and people you follow. It is a tool for your own outreach, not a bulk email platform.
Your account
You need an account to use Outbox. Keep your credentials secure and give us accurate information. You are responsible for everything done through your account. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must not use Outbox if we have previously terminated your access.
Access to your mailbox
You grant access through Google's own consent screen, and you can revoke it at any time from your provider account or by disconnecting in Settings. We use that access only to provide the features described above.
Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what we read, what we store, and for how long, and forms part of these Terms.
Outbox does not send email on its own
This is a commitment, not a setting. Everything Outbox writes is saved as a draft. No message leaves your mailbox because of an automated rule, a schedule, or a background job. The only path that sends an email requires your explicit confirmation of that specific message in the moment. If we ever change this, it will be an opt-in you choose, announced in advance, and never a default.
AI-generated content is a draft, not advice
Outbox uses large language models to summarise relationships, extract commitments, research firms and people, and write drafts. This output can be wrong. It can misread a thread, invent a detail, miss a promise, or surface news about the wrong person of the same name.
You are responsible for reading anything before you send it. A message sent from your mailbox is yours, in your name, whoever drafted it. Do not rely on Outbox as the sole record of an obligation, and do not treat research output as verified fact.
Acceptable use
Outbox is for your own professional correspondence. You must not:
- send unsolicited bulk email, or use Outbox in any way that breaches anti-spam law that applies to you, including the CAN-SPAM Act, Canada's CASL, the GDPR and the UK and EU ePrivacy rules
- harvest, scrape, resell or redistribute contact data obtained through the service
- impersonate anyone, or send messages that are deceptive, harassing, or unlawful
- connect a mailbox you are not authorised to access, or use the service to surveil another person
- attempt to break, overload, reverse engineer or circumvent the limits of the service, or resell it without our agreement
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches this section, without refund where the breach is serious.
Plans, billing and cancellation
Outbox has a free plan and paid plans. The plan, price and billing period shown at checkout are the terms of your subscription. Paid plans renew automatically each period until cancelled, and payment is taken through our payment processor, whose terms also apply to that transaction.
You can cancel at any time from Settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal and you keep paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund partial periods. If we change prices, the change applies from your next renewal and we will tell you first. Plans carry usage allowances; we may apply fair-use limits to protect the service, and we will say so in the app when a limit is reached.
Your data and our rights
Your mail, contacts and everything derived from them are yours. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service for you: to store, process and display that content back to you, and to send it to the processors listed in the Privacy Policy under agreements that forbid training generalised AI models on it. We claim no ownership of your content and we do not sell it. The Outbox software, brand and interface remain ours.
Third-party services
Outbox depends on services we do not control, including your mail provider, our hosting, database, email delivery, enrichment and AI providers. Their availability and their terms affect what Outbox can do. We are not responsible for their acts or outages, though we will tell you when a failure on their side is affecting you.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time. Doing so removes the data we hold for you, as set out in the Privacy Policy. Disconnecting your mailbox stops all reading immediately. Some records may persist briefly in backups, and we may keep what the law requires us to keep.
Changes, availability and termination
Outbox is under active development. We may add, change or remove features, and we may suspend the service for maintenance. We will give reasonable notice of a change that materially reduces what a paid plan provides. You may stop using Outbox at any time. We may terminate or suspend an account for breach of these Terms, for non-payment, or if we stop offering the service, and we will refund the unused portion of a prepaid period if we discontinue the service.
Disclaimers
Outbox is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that its analysis or research will be accurate or complete, or that it will detect every commitment or every reply.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost business, lost opportunities or lost data. Our total liability arising out of or relating to Outbox is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, losses and costs arising from your use of Outbox, from messages you send, or from your breach of these Terms or of any law, including anti-spam and data protection law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Outbox after that means you accept the new Terms. If you do not, stop using the service and cancel any paid plan.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Boyd Labs LLC agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York for any dispute that is not resolved informally. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
